The South of Scotland Regional Economic Partnership (REP) met online on 6th December 2024.
REP members were presented with an update on the REP’s three Key Priorities: Skills, Transport and Housing.
Following this update, NatureScot provided a presentation and Question & Answer session on the proposed National Park in Galloway. Members were encouraged to respond individually to the formal consultation, which opened on 7 November 2024 and runs until 14 February 2025.
Following an update on the recently published Delivery Plan, the REP reviewed an approach to establish the Regional Land Use Partnership including membership.
They also endorsed the process for recruiting new members to join the Partnership. The recruitment campaign will begin in mid-January 2025, with applications being accepted until the closing date on 9th February 2025.
More information will be made available on the REP website and a social media campaign will take place to encourage people to submit their CVs.
Short video clips have been recorded to help raise interest and awareness of the REP. Representatives will be required for communities, the private sector and social enterprise sector.
It is hoped the chosen candidates will be able to join the REP at the next meeting in March 2025.
