The South of Scotland Regional Economic Partnership (REP) met on 30th September 2024 at the Buccleuch Centre, in Langholm, Dumfries & Galloway.
REP members were presented with an update from the Scottish Government on the importance of Regional Economic Partnerships and how it sees Regional Economic Partnerships working in the future to boost local economies and deliver national success.
Members then took part in a workshop on one of the REP’s three Key Priorities, Transport. The REP’s Strategic Action Group for Transport recently approved its Terms of Reference, and the workshop allowed members to discuss and collaborate on key transport issues for the South of Scotland. Following the discussions, there was a short update on the REP’s two other Key Priorities of Housing and Skills.
The REP then endorsed its refreshed Delivery Plan, which sits alongside its Regional Economic Strategy and will cover the three years from 2025-2027. The Plan sets out three Key Priorities and nine wider actions and will be launched later this year.
Finally, REP Members took part in short workshops to shape the priorities, governance process and future membership of the Regional Land Use Partnership, as it moves into its next phase and builds on the success of its pilot stage.
Alongside the Partnership meeting, REP members and wider partners marked the significant progress made with the recent publication of the South of Scotland’s first Regional Land Use Framework.
